Trees and Distribution: Large trees, 35-48m high, 1-2m in diameter. About 35 species of this genus are found in tropical Asia, Africa and Oceania. This species is mainly imported from Equatorial Guinea, Liberia, Cameroon, Gabon, Congo and other regions, with a large volume.
Material properties
Bark: 1-3 cm thick, soft, easy to peel. Peel grayish-brown to grayish-white; with cracks in tortoises.
Cross section: Heart sapwood has obvious difference. The heartwood is dark yellow to orange. The sapwood is light yellow or yellow-white, about 4 cm wide. The growth ring was not obvious.
Macroscopic structure: porous materials. Pipe holes are obvious, slightly less and slightly larger than the naked eye; they are mainly single-pipe holes and rarely multiple-pipe holes (2); they contain yellowish-brown sediments and intrusions. Axial parenchyma is slightly visible under magnifying glass, loosely tubular, visible under wood ray magnifying glass, slightly dense and narrow.

Usage: Suitable for outdoor floor, garden landscape, outdoor anti-corrosion wood, indoor floor, high-grain furniture, indoor decoration, doors, windows, cabinets, vehicles, bridges, etc.
It is suitable for building engineering, ** corrosion-resistant outdoor materials, shipbuilding, wharf, pillow, decorative veneer, floor, staircase handrails, furniture, joinery, etc. It can be used as a substitute for mahogany Azobe (Lophira spp.)
5 Material Differences
Identifying points: endothelium is yellow-brown; phloem fibers are well developed, reaching, easy to tear into pine needle or hemp filament. Heartwood is dark to orange. Texture is interlaced.
