Wood characteristics:
Wood is loose porous wood. Heart sapwood is distinct; heartwood is yellow-brown to light reddish-brown, often striped; sapwood is yellow-white, 2-4 cm thick. The growth ring is slightly obvious. The holes are visible to the naked eye and scattered. Axial parenchyma is evident under magnifying glass, with wing, poly-wing and rim-like structures. Wood rays are visible under a magnifying glass. The ripple mark was not visible and the intercellular tract was not visible. Wood glossy; wet wood has vanilla-like odor or stench, no special taste; waxy and oily texture. The texture is interlaced even; the structure is fine and slightly uniform.
Wood properties:
Dry shrinkage is very large; the total dry shrinkage rate is 7.6% - 8.3% in chord direction and 5.0% - 5.1% in radial direction. Wood dimensional stability is excellent to medium. Wood is very heavy; basic density is 0.91-0.97g/cm3, air-dry density is 1.07-1.11g/cm3; high strength, along-grain compressive strength 97-111 MPa, flexural strength 173-293 MPa, flexural elastic modulus 17.9-22.0 GPa. The nail holds well. In order to prevent wood cracking, pre-drilling should be done before nailing. 

Drying should be slow, otherwise thick plates have cracks. It is difficult to process, because the wood is hard and the tool edge is blunt, it is suitable to use alloy steel saw blade; if the wood texture is staggered, the cutting angle should be 15-20 degrees; the cutting surface is smooth; after applying filler, the finishing is good, and the adhesive should be carefully operated.
