Trees and Distribution
Large trees, 45 m high and 1.5 m in diameter, straight trunk, 15-20 cm high, cylindrical, with plate roots. Grown in tropical rain forests and transition areas between tropical rain forests and savanna, like well-drained soil. Distributed in eastern Suriname, western French Guiana and Brazil.
Wood structure
Wood porous wood. The heartwood is yellowish brown to reddish brown, which is obviously different from sapwood. The sapwood is light brown or nearly white; the width is 4-7 cm; the duct groove is obvious on the diameter and chord surfaces, producing beautiful figures.

Wood luster; no special odor and taste; texture till slightly staggered; slightly rough and uniform structure; wood medium to heavy; shrinkage is very large; high strength.
