The tree height is 50m and the average diameter is 1m. Bark > grey, with longitudinal dehiscence. The difference between edge and heartwood is obvious, the sapwood is yellow-white with light peach stripes, the heartwood is grey-brown or gray-purple when fresh, and dark purple when long-standing. Cross section: Heart sapwood has obvious difference. The new section of heartwood is light brown and gradually turns to dark purple to purple brown. The sapwood is nearly white. The growth ring is slightly obvious.
